A Step Back

Ok, Amie is awesome!!! :)

So I've taken a step back and keeping my fingers crossed that I'm not totally overwhelming myself. So I'm taking this step by step. Right now I'm looking at re-working the way I taught chapter 3 in Algebra 2. I'm looking into revamping linear programming. The webquest that I'm desgning for class is something I hope to incorporate next year. The technology aspect will add a level of engagement that work sheets just can't provide. By making my students apply what they know, I'm hoping for a better level of comprehension.

  1. It is a brave step but a necessary one. You will never know if this will have impact until you implement. This is why you are in the program (in case you didn't know)...to give you an excuse to experiment with new strategies and to have support while doing it :)

  2. So, Kate...I am wondering why you are going to incorporate the WQ next year? As Dawn said, you need to implement to learn from it.

I encourage you to try the WQ this year. It will help you better understand the whole WQ design. Who know's, you may even get hooked on them!

You mentioned that the WQ will provide engagement that worksheets can't provide....Remember that WQ's also help to transform information.....
